Integra is a RegTech solution designed to digitize the manual and error-prone Ultimate Beneficial Owner (UBO) verification process. By providing a secure environment for companies to build, store, and share their compliance documents, Integra ensures that VCs and investors have access to 100% valid, up-to-date legal data.

  • The objective was to replace a fragmented, manual documentation process with a secure "Single Source of Truth." Integra aimed to empower companies to build their final UBO documentation using standardized templates and share them securely with investors via an email-based permission system. A primary goal was to eliminate "forgotten documents" and human error by implementing an automated tracking system for document validity and expiration.
  • My Role
  • As the Senior Product Designer, I owned the end-to-end product lifecycle for Integra. I was responsible for the entire design stack, beginning with user research to map complex legal requirements into a digital workflow. I designed the platform’s information architecture, the Visual Ownership Tree, and the automated validation engine from scratch. My role encompassed the design of the secure document vault and the multi-role permission system, leading the project through high-fidelity prototyping to the final developer handoff.
Core Challenges

The main challenge was “Complexity vs. Integrity.” UBO regulations require legally precise documentation that is prone to expiration and manual errors. I had to design a system that enforced strict template compliance and automated expiry tracking (e.g., for passports) without creating a high-friction experience for the user. Balancing the visual clarity of a complex Ownership Org Chart with a highly secure “Sharing & Permissions” flow was critical to the product’s success.

Product Strategy & UX Approach
Empathize & Audit

I began by auditing the entire “UBO Lifecycle”—mapping every touchpoint from the moment a VC requests data to the final document storage. By interviewing stakeholders, I identified the critical failure points in the traditional process where documents were frequently lost, expired, or incorrectly formatted.

Define & Ideate

With the friction points identified, I moved into ideation to solve the “Compliance Gap.” I focused on digitalizing the manual back-and-forth by designing a logic-driven system that handles document status automatically. The goal was to replace human memory with a system that proactively manages templates and expiration alerts.

Prototype & Test

I moved into low and high-fidelity wireframing to test the core “Engine” of the app. This involved prototyping the UBO creation flow, the secure sharing system (View/Edit permissions), and the multi-level company tree. Testing these prototypes allowed us to ensure that even the most complex corporate hierarchies remained readable and that the sharing permissions felt secure to the user.

Design System Development

To ensure scalability and consistency across the data-heavy interface, I built a comprehensive Design System. I focused on creating reusable components for document states, notification banners, and relational chart elements, which allowed for faster iterations and a cohesive user experience throughout the platform.

UI Finalization & Technical Handoff

In the final phase, I polished the high-fidelity UI, ensuring that security trust signals were integrated into the visual language. I concluded the project with a detailed technical handoff, providing developers with structured components and interaction specs to ensure the automated logic and the visual tree were implemented exactly as intended.
